Bereavement

When a person we know or love dies, it can be an enormous shock even if it has been expected. There are many things that need to be done and you can access a useful government site containing further information by clicking here.

Funeral arrangements can only be made once the death has been registered. Once this has been done speak the Parish Priest to discuss:

  • the date, time
  • whether there will be a Requiem Mass in church or whether there will only be a service at the cemetery or crematorium
  • if the body is to be received into church the evening before the Requiem
  • readings and prayers etc.

We would recommend speaking with the priest after Mass, coming along to one of his regular ‘Surgeries’ where you can see him without making an appointment or telephoning rather than emailing.
